Yellow Rose
The annual Yellow Rose Day coincides with International Women’s Day, a day when Zonta recognizes inspirational women. Members of Zonta nominate women who have mentored or supported them. A single yellow rose, the symbolic gesture from Zonta International for its efforts to improve the lives of women, is given to each recognized woman.
In 2023, we honored two wonderful and inspirational women.
Syd Evans

Sydney (Syd) is married to Tony Evans and they reside in Portville. She has spent her life in Portville and is very active in the community. She is at almost every event taking photos. She is an animal advocate and a go to person if your pet is missing. She runs the Friends of Portville Facebook page. She is a retired Mental Health Intensive Case Manager at Catt. County. She is very family-oriented. She was overwhelmed when I gave her the yellow rose.
